Understanding How Wedding Tax Works

Understanding How Wedding Tax Works

Some studies have shown that marriage is one of the most stressful things you will ever experience. It's dragging spaces with a terminal illness such as cancer, or heart failure, or things such as going to jail or having to lose a loved one and getting fired. Too much stress leads to:

  • Poor decision-making ability
  • Absentmindedness
  • Petulance
  • Risk behavior

Getting married should be a pleasant and stress-free experience. After all, for some of us, it is one of the most precious days of our lives. Unfortunately, this is not invariably true as many couples feel overwhelmed by the excessive costs of marriage and worst still a wedding tax. This is due to the added tax and additional costs of the providers for the privilege of arranging a wedding. Known as "wedding tax" means that once vendors have the scent of a wedding, couples pay a lot more for photographers, locals, DJs, and food.

Wedding vendors are more affected by the stress of the bride and her family and require you to pay for it. Marriage vendors sometimes struggle with indecision, anger, the inability to communicate, unrealistic expectations, mistrust, and of course, while taking charge of people who do not plan events in their lives.

Getting a Venue

When I made inquiries about holiday and wedding bookings at the same locations, we were surprised to find that on average, the price had gone up 68% for a wedding. We also found that couples pay 37% more for this place only when they say it's for a wedding. Moreover, it did not stop there. Several sites said they had "availability" when asked to book them during the summer months, but they seemed happy to organize weddings. With such a demand for weddings during this period, it is clear that the places are seeing this offer more attractive.

Hiring a DJ and a Photographer

When it comes to booking a Disc Jockey (DJ) or a photographer, we are often in the hands of salespeople, as we both understand that many couples want memorable entertainment on the day of their great success. Still, what we did not foresee was how these costs would have been inflated about marriages. While the photos were on average 125% more charged, just like the DJs, they increased their budget by 61% for a wedding, at an additional cost for music after midnight! As in many other places, some of the DJs I spoke to were available for weddings but were "booked" for a party the same day.

Drinks and Food – Everyone’s favorite

Although our researchers found that table decorations could cost up to 48% more for a wedding, we also found that a three-course meal could also grow by 28%.

Getting a Expert consultant

To find out what couples should do to avoid suffering the marriage tax, we consulted a specialist, and she had this to say: "People are probably the most important cost of a wedding; it's the meal, so you may be able to choose a smaller place for a more intimate event, shorten the guest list to exclude someone who does not do not know (or how) or do not eat. " You can also create your stationery or decorating items - to the extent that it can reduce your budget and inject something more personal.

Other tips:

  • Saturday is the most expensive day for a wedding. To save money, try to avoid these peak periods by booking off-season or on weekdays. In some cases, you can reduce your account by half!
  • Pay attention to hidden costs, such as food tasting When buying different food packages, suppliers typically pay about $50 per person, to try a meal. To save a few dollars, try to include the taste in the package.
  • Make sure your wedding receipt includes VAT.
  • Use a wedding budget tracking tool to track costs.
