After spending 20 years in the Air Force as a highly decorated Command Controller, Stephan decided to retire from a life of service to our nation. With an education in accounting and finance from a top rated university, meticulous detail oriented training, learned from running large OPS in the Air Force, Stephan decided to serve in a smaller community. In 2000 he purchased two accounting and tax offices and before 2003 had built the practice to five offices throughout Phoenix Metro area. Having a large practice that was consistently growing at a rate of 30% per year meant that the practice saw large numbers of tax problems resulting from errors found in the returns of new clients. It became rare when the firm did not amend several of the returns of our new clients. The firm became so successful at tax resolution, tax preparation and tax planning; in 2006 it became our primary focus. Stephan being the consummate learner studied the practices of all of the large firms in the industry and sought out all education specific to the industry. Stephan has since received the coveted certification as a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist from the American Society of Tax Problem Solver, and a Master Degree in Tax from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
On a more personal note, when Stephan’s not working on the practice, reviewing returns or solving client's tax problems, he’s spending time vacationing with his lovely wife, visiting with grandchildren, his immediate family or his off-road family. He has a short course race truck and races in the Lucas Oil Regional series. He also attends as many of the desert races as possible.
We, as a firm only hire seasoned professionals and constantly expand our knowledge. The staff consists of Attorneys, CPAs, former IRS revenue officers, Tax Resolution Seniors, Tax Resolution Juniors, Tax Resolution Assistants, Tax Preparation staff and an outstanding support staff. Because of the vast knowledge of the staff, the firm is capable of solving tax issues arising from almost every imaginable scenario. It should be noted that we do not directly represent clients with criminal tax matters; however, through our relationship with criminal tax attorneys, we are able to assist in the defense. The vast majority of clients start out as tax resolution clients and remain clients for life. We strongly believe in a maintenance program to help to keep clients in compliance and out of trouble. Our strongest referral sources are other CPA firms, Accountants, Mortgage Brokers/Loan Officers, Realtors, Financial Advisors and Attorneys. We help these professionals solve tax and state issues for their clients, while always respecting the source of the referral.
Even though our firm has expanded across the nation, opened offices in 4 other states and become one of the largest and most successful firms in the industry, we still pride ourselves on the personalized service we offer each and every client. We have emerged as an industry leader for our resolution rates and customer satisfaction, yet we still think like a small firm. We still treat each and every client as if they are one of our first. Our goal is now and will always be, to ease the minds of our clients through regular contact and allowed them to sleep better at night, knowing that we are going to battle for them.
