Susan has been preparing individual tax returns since 1983. Many of her clients have been with her for years as they transition through a variety of life changes. She works with them to plan ahead and make proactive changes. Most tax saving moves can only be made before year-end, so clients are encouraged to call or email during the year to discuss options and opportunities. She can work with your financial advisor to assess the tax implications of financial transactions. While taxes should not be the only consideration when making financial moves, they should be one element of the decision. Planning both retirement contributions and distributions can have a large impact on the taxes paid. Susan can help evaluate the mix of company retirement plans, traditional and Roth IRAs that can be most beneficial to each individual client. Once clients are ready to draw on retirement funds, Susan can advise on those tax implications as well. As a pastor’s wife, Susan has a vested interest in clergy tax issues and has specialized in helping pastors maximize their compensation as well as minimizing income taxes. She realizes that pastors’ taxes are unique and sometimes counter-intuitive to mainstream tax saving ideas. Susan is particularly interested in helping pastors utilize the tax code to help them save for retirement.
