Phone Scams Continue to be a serious threat

Phone Scams Continue to be a serious threat

Aggressiveand threatening phone calls by criminals impersonating IRS agents remain to top the annual "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams for 2015 filing season.

The IRS has seen a surge of these phone scams in recent months as a scam artist threatens police arrest, deportation, licence revocation and other things. The IRS reminds taxpayers to guard against all sorts of con games that arise during any season.

If someone calls unexpectedly claiming to be from the IRS with aggressive threats, remember that the first contact from the IRS is usually through the mail. If you receive a call like this notify your local police department and contact the IRS. As I tell my clients they should contact me also. John Cahill at Performing Financial Planning, Inc.
