Josh Gallogly, CFP®, EA

Since 2002, Josh Gallogly has had a love-hate relationship with the financial services industry.

Initially drawn to help people make smart money decisions, Josh finds joy in assisting others with one of life’s most crucial aspects – their financial well-being. However, he is disheartened by the prevalence of self-serving practices in the financial sector, prioritizing personal gain over the long-term financial health of clients. This sentiment is reinforced by the intense opposition of lobbyists from major financial institutions to the implementation of the fiduciary standard to their business practices with clients. 

From his early days as an intern at a prominent Wall Street firm to his tenure in a corporate office of a large insurance and financial services company, Josh gained valuable insights into the inner workings and motivations of these institutions.

In 2007, disillusioned by his experiences in the financial services industry, Josh pursued a different path where he could make a tangible difference in people’s lives. He became a Registered Nurse (RN).

Josh spent over a decade working in an acute care hospital setting, learning profound lessons about the brevity and preciousness of life. During this period, Josh emerged as a trusted resource among his colleagues, often fielding personal finance inquiries, particularly from those nearing retirement seeking guidance without the fear of having financial products pitched to them.

In 2021, emboldened by the realization that time waits for no one, Josh registered his own independent, fee-only financial planning firm, Milestones Financial, LLC. With no affiliation or employment ties to any bank, brokerage, or insurance company, Josh advises his clients without any pressure towards making certain recommendations. He operates in a true fiduciary capacity; prioritizing clients’ needs above all else.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology (with a focus in Family Financial Management) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an enrolled agent (EA) of the IRS.

Residing in Grandview Heights, Ohio, with his wife, Meridith, and daughter, Claire, Josh finds joy in family activities, culinary adventures, and nurturing Claire’s curiosity about the world. In his leisure time, he enjoys listening to music and embraces outdoor pursuits.
