My passion for helping people with IRS tax problems started when the IRS sent me a notice that my husband and I owed an additional $23,000 in income taxes. While I had been doing taxes for a while, I was unsure where to start to fight the IRS. This is a totally different area from tax preparation. I contacted the IRS right away. I knew not to ignore the letter. I asked for more time to pull together the documents I needed to prove that the IRS was wrong. The end result was that my husband and I received a No Change Letter from the IRS stating we did not owe the additional tax.
